Instagram has introduced a new AI-powered video editing assistant inside its Edits app, designed to help creators better understand their content performance and improve future videos.
Unlike traditional AI editing tools, the assistant focuses mainly on analytics and personalized recommendations rather than automatically creating or editing videos. It analyzes metrics such as views, followers, video retention, likes, shares, comments, current Instagram trends, and audience interests.
The AI assistant can identify patterns in a creator’s performance and provide actionable insights that may be difficult to spot through standard analytics alone. Instagram says creators will still make the creative decisions, while the AI handles much of the analysis.
Usage of the AI assistant will be limited, although creators will be able to access additional usage through a Meta One subscription. Meta is positioning the feature as another tool to help Instagram compete with platforms and editing apps such as YouTube and CapCut.
