Google has launched the Fitbit Air in India at a price of ₹13,999, which is significantly higher than its $99 price in the United States.
The Fitbit Air features a screen-free design and focuses primarily on health and fitness tracking. It offers 24/7 heart-rate monitoring, irregular heart rhythm and atrial fibrillation alerts, blood oxygen tracking, sleep monitoring and sleep stages, as well as resting heart-rate insights and trends.
With the device, Google is aiming to tap into the growing popularity of screenless health trackers designed for users who want to monitor their fitness and well-being without the distractions of notifications and displays.
However, its relatively high price could make it difficult to reach a mass audience in India, especially with cheaper alternatives available from local competitors. The device will go on sale starting October 2 through the Google Store and selected retailers, and it will include three months of Google Health Premium at no additional cost.
